Through it, we discover a God of freedom, justice and love, and begin to see what impact this should have on our responses. Shepherd King David was a great king - the greatest Israel had ever seen, but how did it all start out for this ancestor of Jesus? This module follows David through his anointing by Samuel, his time in Saul's court, via his famous showdown with Goliath to his time as an outlaw, fleeing Saul's anger. What we discover is a man committed to God, one who depends on God for his very safety, even when life does not seem to go to plan.
